DADABASENYC.COM has been launched as the focal point for projects that are conceptualized, produced or promoted by DADABASE in New York.
We have started this project to show contemporary art as well as works from other disciplines, including sciences and humanities. We are interested in disseminating new, interesting and challenging research projects in the hope of bridging disciplinal, professional and methodological gaps, encouraging the expansion of conversations that are often limited to a single field of study.
Unlike most web-based projects, we do not celebrate the possibilities offered by advances in communication technology. Instead, we are hoping to use electronic machines, software, networks, and their related interfaces to find possible ways for navigating beyond the limitations of today’s dominant telecomputational system of knowledge, contributing to the production of critical and poetic languages that rigorously confront the 21st century.
Beginning with Aaron Gemmill’s Under the Big Blank Sun, we will be launching new projects here on an ongoing basis. In the site’s text section, you will encounter writings by a wide range of thinkers and scientists who directly or indirectly deal with the questions concerning technology.
Best place to meet and interact with us for now is unfortunately on FACEBOOK.
